Jump Into the Jumpsuit Trend

Earlier this year, fashion glossies from InStyle to Harper's Bazaar declared that the jumpsuit was a surefire style for the summer. But months later, Hollywood stars -- who, by the way, don't endure the harsh winters some people do -- have decided the trend is far from over, and that they'll be hot through the winter and into next year.

Part-of-the-reason is that the one-pieces are so versatile, serving as a canvas for whatever kind of look the wearer wants to create through the use of accessories. Bold-faced names such as Tyra Banks, Lady Gaga, and Rachel Zoe have donned jumpsuits as part of 70s- and '80s-inspired ensembles, with a wide belt for the "America's Next Top Model" host, a whimsical color for the "Born This Way" singer, and a retro tuxedo shape for the celeb stylist. "Slumdog Millionaire's" Freida Pinto added some glam to hers, while Hayden Panettiere kept is casual, and queen of late night Chelsea Handler flashed some cleavage in an unexpected (oddly circus-like) ensemble.

Are-you-trying to bring a jumpsuit from the red carpet to the real world? Here's a tip from Cosmopolitan magazine: "If you're a jumpsuit virgin, layering it underneath a jacket makes the look more subtle. Pick tones that are similar."

What do you think? Do you like the jumpsuit look?
