Snooki’s foiled attempt at giving birth in heels

Preparing to welcome her son, Lorenzo Dominic, into the world was just like getting ready for a big night out at Karma for Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi. The "Jersey Shore" star revealed on the "Today" show on Wednesday morning that when she gave birth on August 25, she "wanted to look good" while doing it. "I even brought heels just in case! But my feet just blew up , I couldn't" -- so she was forced to deliver her son barefoot … like most moms.

Snooki's fiance, Jionni LaValle, couldn't believe she was so particular about her appearance. "She wanted to look good," he told NBC's Savannah Guthrie. "You know, makeup, lipstick, everything. I said, 'Nicole, you're giving birth!"

The new mom's fashion sense has apparently rubbed off on her little one. "I try to make him look good," she says. "He likes to be in sweats, nice outfits, polos ... He likes to look good!"

But just because his mom and dad are reality stars with cameras constantly following them around New Jersey, don't expect the same life for little Lorenzo. Although his birth was filmed for the upcoming season of her MTV spin-off "Snooki & JWoww," the new parents don't want that to continue beyond his first few years. "Right now it's fine, while he's this young," says Jionni. "But once school starts, when he gets a little older, I kind of want him to branch off from that. Nicole can do what she has to do ... I kind of just want him to live like a normal lifestyle."

And Snooki, 24, agrees. "We want him to have a normal life where he goes to school, you know, has friends, girlfriends. I want him to have the learning experiences that we did growing up. So I want it to be as normal as possible."
