Whitney Houston's Funeral Video: Watch Live

Whitney Houston’s funeral service took place on February 18 at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey, where the music icon first showed off her singing talents as a child. Friends and family members who gathered to celebrate Houston's life included her cousin Dionne Warwick, music mogul Clive Davis, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, R. Kelly, Tyler Perry, Kevin Costner, The Winans, Oprah Winfrey, and the Reverend Jesse Jackson. Houston, who was found dead last Saturday in a Beverly Hills hotel room at the age of 48, will be buried alongside her father, John Houston Jr., in Westfield, New Jersey.

My prayers are with the family. Whitney was an (ANGLE) God put on earth. She had a giving spirit. She shared her life and kindness with everyone she met. Thank you God for Whitney.

people have compassion for the family learn your place for opinions and bad comments not here this is a time of respect for loved ones when you love someone it does not matter
the way they went it is the way they made us feel remember we all have o die and when you stand before the lord will you be able to say you are a spirit killer or a uplifter.
To Whitney family i love you and miss Whitney and god bless you all.

amen, he without sin do cast the first stone, we all make fail at times, but she loved her family, her mom and daughter, these people wanting to say bad things need to have respect for them, they are right now going through pain and it has to hurt when people say things about her, they gave her to us all these years, now let them be.

your right they don't care but you have to look at thier motives behind what they say because if they had compassion for humans they would think before they speak.

there is compassion! but why should someone that destroyed their life that had more than most others be celebrated? she ruined her life with drugs, booze and whatever else! she gets a 4 hour funeral on national tv and flags flown at half staff in nj? thats #$%$ Military that come home in a box for fighting for us get a 30 sec snippet on the news and a page 8 3 line column! Those are the ones that should be celebrated! I am so sick of these celebrities that no one gave a crap about the last 10 years being treated like a saint and people saying how their lives are now so sad w/o her now. whatever!

I thought Kevin Costner did such a wonderful job such a sensitive and sincere speech. You could see and hear the emotions in his voice. Great man. Love you Kevin

I'm a mother who has lost parents and two children. Put aside her career, the tragic things that happened to her along the way. Remember her for the beautiful voice she had, her love of God , and that she is a friend, sister to those of worship, a mother and a daughter. Let her rest in piece, forgive her for the path she took that took her life to soon. The most painful thing in life is to lose a child, a parent, or a sibling would you want people saying these nasty cruel things about you after you pass? Give thoughts and prayers to her daughter who now has no mother and to her mother who now has lost her daughter, This pain will live forever in their heart and souls...would you want to live with that kind of pain the rest of your life? The pain can not be described.
Its a sad time in many peoples lives with her passing, they will soon go on with their own lives. The family she is leaving behind will feel that pain and sorrow the rest of their lives.

Keep the nasty comments to your self "please".

Jesse Jackson is a fraud and I wish that he would not have been invited...there he stands with his arms crossed giving a message that he is not really any part of this but just to be seen...He has done more to divide than unite....

The Reverend Jesse Jackson in a plush red chair up at the front next to the podium....of course. Count on the good Reverend Jackson to never miss out on an opportunity for publicity and self promotion.....good grief.

God loved her enough to take her out of it all. the pain is over. We'll miss you Whitney. But knowing who you loved more than all of us, makes me proud to say, we'll see and hear you sing again, like Bebe W singing, one day soon.
