It is the very attentive, healthy family who understands the needs of the child over their own agenda. She will be a very independent, secure daughter. I have 3 children of my own whom I did not force from breastfeeding before they were ready and one son who finished with a bottle at his own pace. They are happy, well adjusted children who have no cavities and no need for braces. No drama.

Actually, I'll bet she is in the process of weaning. Haven't seen any children who ONLY take a bottle or breastfeed at this age. When ever you add other foods in addition to bottle or breast the process is started. Cutie pie, Suri, probably uses a cup sometimes and a bottle sometimes. She is not going to damage her teeth! good lord. what's with all the bottle comments. every child developes at their own speed. my older daughter used her paci to sleep with until she was 4.5 years old. her teeth look just fine by the way. good parenting is giving your children support and letting them choose what it is that comforts them.
