It is the very attentive, healthy family who understands the needs of the child over their own agenda. She will be a very independent, secure daughter. I have 3 children of my own whom I did not force from breastfeeding before they were ready and one son who finished with a bottle at his own pace. They are happy, well adjusted children who have no cavities and no need for braces. No drama.

Actually, I'll bet she is in the process of weaning. Haven't seen any children who ONLY take a bottle or breastfeed at this age. good lord. what's with all the bottle comments. every child developes at their own speed. my older daughter used her paci to sleep with until she was 4.5 years old. her teeth look just fine by the way. good parenting is giving your children support and letting them choose what it is that comforts them.

Is Suri going to turn into a mass murderer or have enormous buck teeth from using a bottle later than what Dr. Spock says (whose son committed suicide)? I seriously doubt it. Every kid doesn't grow up according to doctor charts; they're all their own people and need different things. Leave her alone.

she is not a baby she is a toodler when are u supposed to teach them that when there four and they went through there most crutial learning stages its called tough love thats why they have parents do u think children should decided when there ready how do they know there toddlers they dont know what is going to hurt there teeth use something elsa as a comfort object not a bottle made 0 - 12 months

I think bottles at two are parents being lazy They ruin your childs growing teeth all my children were off the bottle at there first birthday that is why docs tell u dont put ur child to bed with a bottle let them get a drink before bed then when they wake up start teaching them at 8 to 9 months it is calling parenting and children r time make the time for them if ur going to have them

Hey, taking a bottle away from the child when is not ready is like taking away their blanket. So don't criticize and think mom is doing the best she can.

While yes I am a parent of a busy 18 month old we too are having a hard time breaking the bottle, our daughter only gets it at bedtime, and does not carry it around, it's hard. Their life is so much harder than ours. Imagine if you went to the store with your mom and there were a swarm of people around you, it would make you uncomfortable. Maybe the bottle helps her.
