LOS ANGELES, Calif. (December 21, 2007) With the Writers Guild of America now in its second month of striking, many are wondering, 'Will there or won't there be a Golden Globes'?

While the Hollywood Foreign Press, who run the Globes, told Access Hollywood that the show will go on, it appears the Writers Guild will picket the awards show's red carpet.

As for the actual stars, Screen Actors Guild President Alan Rosenberg, who represents the actors union, says that as of right now the celebs aren't expected to show.

"The sense I'm getting is a lot of actor's will not be crossing the picket line," Alan said.

One of those actors may be Michael Bolton's fiance, Nicolette Sheridan, who in a sign of solidarity with writers, would not even attend the "Clash of the Choirs" finale on NBC last night.

Meanwhile, the Independent Spirit Awards were granted a waiver to hire writers for their February 23 event.

Rainn Wilson, who stars as Dwight in NBC's "The Office," was announced this week as Master of Ceremonies for the event, which honors indie film.

"It is truly an honor to be asked to host an awards show that salutes the cutting edge in cinema. I like to think that I bring a bit of an 'independent spirit' to the proceedings as I recently installed a gun rack in my Prius," Wilson said in a statement.
