Robin Williams' Wife Files For Divorce

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Robin Williams and his wife, Marsha Garces Williams, are ending their almost 19-year marriage, Access Hollywood has learned.
Marsha Garces Williams filed for divorce from the comedian on the grounds of irreconcilable differences in San Francisco on March 21.

The couple first met when Marsha worked as a nanny for Robin and his previous wife, Valerie Velardi, taking care of their son, Zachary.
Marsha went on to work as Robin's personal assistant before marrying the comedian in April 1989.

Robin, 56, and Marsha, early 50's, have a daughter, Zelda, and a son, Cody, together.

Approximately 50% of marriages end in divorce. That doesn't mean the other 50% are happy. Some are only together for the children, some for financial reasons, some ONLY because of religious beliefs, some are just afraid they won't find anyone else, many are having affairs, some are actually happy, etc. 19 years was a good run. Who are we to judge?

Soooo many stupid comments. ..."the new wife"....they've been married for 19 years, together longer. It's not like he dumped his wife for her and had a 2 month, or even a 2 year thing. People should NOT stay together for the kids if the home life is miserable. Especially when alcoholism & drugs are involved. Children suffer in unhappy homes.
