more Most Baltimore Ravens fans found themselves adopting their new team decades after the Colts moved to Indianapolis. For one Ravens super fan, that adopted love was realized while performing in the Ravens marching band, an organization inspired by the tradition left behind by the Colts.
Despite being thousands of miles away now, that passion continues. "I joined the Marching Ravens in 2003, mostly because I wanted to continue playing in a marching band after graduating," says Shippensburg University alumnus Jen Gaffney. Gaffney's second game with the band turned out to be a wild overtime victory for the Ravens against the Seattle Seahawks.
Down 41-24 in the fourth quarter, the Ravens battled back to force overtime with Ed Reed returning a blocked punt for a touchdown getting the comeback started. Matt Stover's field goal in overtime gave the Ravens a 44-41 victory.
"I remember thinking to myself, this is a team I could get behind," Gaffney says. "I've been a fan ever since."
