more Director Ron Howard surprised plenty of us when he made an unlikely appearance in Jamie Foxx’s video for his club jam “Blame It,” but the appearance spurred a friendship between the two famous fellas. So how did Foxx get Howard to participate in the first place? He simply asked him when the two bumped into each other at President Obama’s 2009 inauguration … but not everyone believed Ron would show up. “Hype Williams directed the video and couldn’t believe when I said, ‘Ron Howard is coming,’” Foxx told omg! last month. “When Ron Howard walked around the corner, Hype Williams almost passed out. Ron blessed us not only with his cameo in the video, but he also gave us some tips and stuff about movies. And of course, we hit him with all the questions. So he was real cool about it.” Since then the guys have been pals and will work together when Foxx directs a short film under Howard’s tutelage as part of the the Canon-sponsored Project Imaginat10n.
