That friendship has paid off for the POTUS this year, as Clooney sponsored two major fundraisers. "The Descendants" star raised $15 million for the re-election campaign in May with a fundraiser at his L.A. home, and another several hundred thousand dollars with a soiree organized by Americans Abroad for Obama in Geneva in August.
