The horrifying shooting and loss of so many little children in Sandy Hook tore at my heart, creating images that any of those innocents could be one of mine. A similar killing took place not far from here in 1989 when a young man shot five children under the age of 10 on a schoolyard in Stockton. It could happen again. My hope for the next four years is to see significant changes made by our government to prevent this type of gun violence." less
