    Golden Globes Predictions

    Brad Pitt or George Clooney? Meryl Streep or Viola Davis? "The Artist" versus "The Descendants"? Predicting the Golden Globes can be like herding cats. The notoriously mercurial Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), a group of 90-odd foreign journalists and hangers-on hailing from Malaysia to Latvia, wavers between being starstruck (ratings!) and making the unpredictable serious statement (integrity?). Still, I can't help myself. I'm going to take a stab with a butter knife at who will win -- and who really deserves the honors. Check out my predictions. Make your own lists. And then tune in along with me for the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards, airing live, with inevitable gaffes, on Sunday, January 15, 2012. -- Thelma Adams

      I have my own home theater now. And watch what I want.. Sad to say, 95% of the Movies now are crap!.. I don't go to the show any more. No need. And I don't want to watch crap.. Pay up the butt to get in. Have out of control people and kids.. #$%$ pop corn and crap cokes.. I have all I need at home now!

        they charge more for ethical reasons (its a tactic to combat the sweat shops) however they consistantly cast the whip holders that is what i dn't like paying for

        Totally agree about 95 % of the movies now not even being interesting. Most of the movies I watch were made before 1980 and I still manage to have a "must watch" queue that's 300 movies long as we speak. Older movies tend to be more original (not the tenth remake of the same movie), better written, better filmed because they couldn't just rely on 100 special effects, even sexier because they usually couldn't just show people taking it all off and doing it so they had to be creative and make the viewer's imagination work overtime.

        Very good question! The results are skewed because people are forced to pick an answer, when they might want to give a different answer. It's best not to answer in a case like that. These people know nothing about scientific polling.

      Heres my prediction for the Golden Globes - a bunch of Hollywood liberals out of touch with the rest of America will gather to be fawned over, leaving behind a huge carbon footprint from the limos and private jets they used to get to the ceremony.

      I will watch the red carpet show where all the women walk around with their chins in the air as if to say, "Look at me, aren't I beautiful". It really keeps me in check and glad that I am such a simple girl..... The awards..........I could care less!!!!!!

      Why is it a big deal to give a bunch of overpaid, underworked, spoiled hollywood types more "honors" and awards? They ain't treated extra special enough? They don't have enough to feed their oversized egos already? You think who or what is best has anything to do with this and it all ain't about hollywood politics? You watch, I wont. I'll be watching NatGeo or ESPN or such.

      War Horse is one of the best movies I've seen in my lifetime and I literally watched them all as we didn't have TV on the ranch growing up, only movies. Perhaps as a veteran and a struggling, militarily disabled veteran, it spoke to me extra loud. I saw a lot of people crying when those lights came up. Most crowded I've seen the movie theatre for a winter release.

      Hugo, The War Horse, The help or even the Iddles Of March are better choices for best film. I watched all three except the help, which got great reviews as well.

      Ricky Gervais will be the predictable Jerk British host. A bunch of boring movies no one watched will be lauded. Perhaps a couple of stars will bore the audience with their politics. I won't be watching.
