I never listen to any critic on movies or anything. Their opinions are usually not the same as mine. Some of the best movies I've seen, someone else didn't like.

        You're so right Coastie!

No movie is a MUST SEE. Eventually it will be available to rent, for a REASONABLE price, then maybe, just maybe I might watch some of them. But never at a theater where all they do is rape the customers with high ticket prices and gold plated popcorn.

Is that what they did to me I never realized...... Oh my god

Just because something is described as a must see doesn't mean you are being told you must go to the theatre. I love to go sometimes & the money doesn't matter. I get paid so I can spend money using the word rape is ridiculous. I get most of my dvds free from my public library. Republicans hate the middle class & poor & want to shut down anything paid for by the taxpayers. I don't like clutter so being about to get them & bring them back is nice & if they are late I feel great donating the late free to the library.

As a rule, I go to the cinema on bargain nights or attend matinees since the prices are lower. I usually have eaten lunch prior to a matinee or dinner prior to an evening show, so never go to the movies to eat snack/junk food. I've never understood why people feel the need to eat popcorn and drink colas at a movie theater. Eat a good meal before the show and you should NOT need to eat during the movie.

this happens far too often. great films are overlooked for awards before the public even has a chance to view them. the critics & such view the films before release & already decide what's a winner. all awards should be granted based on public opinion, & the critics need to shut the hell up! their opinions most often conflict with mine.
      • William 4 months ago
If that were true flims like transformers or twilight would win all the awards

Wow, Dawn. You're lost. That's like having public opinion drive wine tasting awards. Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill would win every year.

First this movie has not even been released yet, and Second anyone who suggests that it is wrong to make movies about 9/11 are close minded. There are many younger people who have no clue what happened that day, children who never knew parents that were lost....These movies are made as a patronage to the loved ones lost and those who have suffered through that day, not as an insult to them. No different than making movies about wars, genocides, serial killers, or other extreme tragedies like the titanic. Its the only way that people will learn and understand about how events may have truly happened and how those people were affected during that time.

Although, I understand your points, I for one will steer clear of any movies re: 9/11. I am still raw from it's being seared into my soul along with images of the "high five" celebrations of the middle east stone dwellers.

ROTFLOL I can't correct them all but only reading the post at the very top was enough to find out the truth from the repliers. Good night.

Its still too soon to be making movies about 9/11. I'm not closed-minded, I'm a New Yorker.

It's a shame that Gerard Butler's "Machine Gun Preacher" didn't make the list. You would think a movie about a reformed biker thug who found God and built an orphanage in Africa would rate at least a mention. Too bad Relativity Media abandoned it.

Lucy- the people that vote don't even see these movies in theaters. They get screeners. The public doesn't nominate or vote for Golden Globes or The Oscars.

January 21st this movie will be out in for the lowely public to see. And I plan on seeing it. It's been out in a few large cities for only the "special people" to view. Will never watch Jolie, Pitt, Kutcher or Moore in anything. The last movie my wife and I went to see in a theatre was Sandra Bullock in "Blind Side". We do qualify for the senior citizen rate. Don't know if that's still available. We really like this modern technology of voicing your opinions for the world to see. Or "post" the amount and depth of trauma and abuse you had gone through as a child and it made everything you did as an adult "okie dokie". Let's pull out all that dirty laundry and shake out the old #$%$ for the world to read. Just a few years ago we would pull out the Sunday paper over breakfast and coffee sit out on the deck and discuss the events of the town, county, state our country and sometimes the world, and maybe place a few phone calls to family and friends. We actually consider these the "good old days". You all have a good day. And by all means comment on my comments so others can comment on those comments.

The movie was saddled with an extremely bad title, that doesn't help anything. It has not even been released yet so how could anyone go see it? Finally, there are some who feel it is still a little too soon to be making money off this tragedy--the time will come, certainly, but not just yet.

How can it be overlooked if it hasn't been released yet, and it is spending a fortune on ads?

G was bad mouthing the price of movie tickets and popcorn and prefers the vending machine movies..... well..... when everyone is layed off that works at the theaters and they are closed don't wonder where the jobs went! You did it yourself, it takes money to support our theaters and hire people, so stay home but don't go looking for a job at your local theater, or you kid.

not ready to relive 9/11. someday, but not yet. maybe a movie about 9/11 should wait another 20 years. Tora, Tora, Tora came out over 30 years after Pearl Harbor. give us some time. making money isn't that important.
