Decade of top searches
Since
2001, Yahoo! has dipped into billions of searches to uncover our audience's
curiosities, interests, and what matters most to them. Unlike editorial
retrospectives or surveys, the rankings come from online users’ own search
behavior. Looking back, these lists truly sketch a society in motion: It's a
unique way to gauge social trends and interests in the year’s top stop stories,
compelling newsmakers, and viral fads.
Take a look back at a dozen years of Top 10s to see how the Web has grown — and
see what
preoccupied readers in 2012.

- Jane Fonda Might Be the Hottest Person at Cannes
Age is just a number when it comes to Jane Fonda. The 75-year-old fitness guru, actress, and philanthropist has been looking better than ever at the Cannes Film Festival this year, rocking every gown on the red carpet and schooling the much younger leading ladies on how to really work it. On Saturday, she dazzled in a custom turquoise Atelier Versace ensemble with Swarovski crystal detailing and cut-outs — yes, a 75-year-old woman actually pulled off the cut-out trend better than most 20-somethings! — at the "Jimmy P" premiere. Furthering our awe, she showed up to the premiere of "Inside Llewyn Davis" on Sunday glowing in a jaw-dropping raspberry Badgley Mischka dress. Check out the video to find out how she always manages to look so good and be sure to tune in to “omg! Insider” on TV tonight for more of the latest in entertainment news. Continue reading →

- How Blogger Spun Abercrombie & Fitch CEO’s Comments Into a Chance for Change
Blogger Jes Baker is blasting popular clothing brand Abercrombie & Fitch for trying to define beauty with a number. Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries has recently come under major fire for comments he made to Salon.com back in 2006. He talked about the store's refusal to sell anything bigger than a size large and only wanting the "All-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends" to represent the brand. "Omg! Insider" sat down with Baker, who is fighting back with Abercrombie ads of her own, where she poses topless with a male model and reinterprets the A&F letters to stand for a message she truly believes in, "Attractive & Fat." "I don't really care what Abercrombie really truly thinks about this, to be honest with you. I don't have the energy to dislike Mike Jeffries," she said during the interview. "There's so much negativity in the world, it doesn't need to be perpetuated." Baker also included an open letter to Jeffries on her website, the Militant Baker, criticizing the company for its narrow view of what beauty really is and promoting the idea that every size is beautiful. "The only thing you've done through your comments (about thin being beautiful and offering XL and XXL in your stores for men) is reinforce the unoriginal concept that fat women are social failures, value-less, and undesirable," Baker wrote. "Well, actually, that's not all you have done. You have also created an incredible opportunity for social change." Check out this vid to see what else the blogger has to say about the brand, and for more from her interview, tune in to "omg! Insider" on television tonight. Continue reading →
