In October 2011, Giuliana announced on “Today” that she was in the early stages and would undergo a double lumpectomy. Just one week after the surgery, Giuliana, who later revealed she also had a double mastectomy, was back at work alongside Ryan Seacrest, "I still do have a bit of a road ahead of me, but it's nothing I can't handle,” she said, “and it's going to be good!"
