  She and her then-fiance Simon Atlee were vacationing in Thailand when the tsunami struck. He was killed and she escaped by hanging on to a palm tree for hours. She spent 3 week in a Thai hospital for a broken pelvis, and internal injuries. She has her hand in a number of charitable organizations. She's quite a model, and human being.
