PETA Offers Britney Spears A Receptionist Gig

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Animal rights activist group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has penned an open letter to Britney Spears, offering her some work.

PETA President, Ingrid E. Newkirk said she caught Brit's "excellent performance" on "How I Met Your Mother," and, as a result, wants to offer her a gig as a receptionist (Brit played a receptionist on the popular CBS show).

The organization hopes the pop singer will take them up on their offer, as they would like to inform her about "issues like fur and homeless dogs and cats."

If she spends any amount of time at the organization, PETA is offering to donate $1,000 to a children's charity.

PETA has lashed out at Britney in the past for her wearing of fur and for buying puppies from pet stores.

"We might have criticized you in the past for contributing to the dog overpopulation crisis and wearing real fur, but perhaps now that your own crisis has abated, a new day calls for a new relationship, a new outlook, and a new understanding," Newkirk wrote in the statement.

Late last year, as Britney and her ex, Kevin Federline, engaged in a court battle over custody of their two children, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, PETA wrote a letter to K-Fed.

In the request, also penned by Newkirk, they urged K-Fed to "pursue a custody order" for the family's pets, including puppy London.

I agree with Rachel 19. That's so stupid to save a freaking animal rather than a human being. That's so egregious.

i'm sure PETA has everyone's best interests in mind but offering a known personality--never mind that everything's just topsy turvy in her life right now--a job as a receptionist? just because they've seen her act the part in a tv show? that's just hilarious!

PETA would save any animal. So why is the organization PRO-ABORTION. Guess it makes them feel good to save a snail -- while having their unborn child put to DEATH.

PETA is a political organization that could bite you back. PETA SUPPORTER ARE ALL FOR AMINALS TILL ONE GETS ATTACKED OR BITTEN THEN THEY CRUSADE TO KILL THE ANIMAL FOR BEING AN ANIMAL. TAKE HEED BEFORE ENDORSING, PETA CAN TURN RABIB AS FAST AS THE ANIMALS THEY PROFESS TO PROTECT.

PETA is one of the GREATEST organazations. I'm a vegetarian and an activist. If you only knew what went on behind closed doors, you'd think twice. I think everyone should at least try them out and see what they have to offer, just because you're selfish doesn't meant they're bad. Don't talk %@!*# unless you can back it up. Ingrid is great and it&
