Also, why did John get into a car with a boy that had been drinking? and why did he not put on his seat belt? Just goes to show you that young people like to live on the wild side....sometimes it comes back to bite you in the ass!!! This is truly a lesson learned!

I have not been keeping up totally on this story...but,has anyone asked the question,"where did this 17 year old boy get the booze that he was so "trashed" on?"He did have a man of age in his car with him(22 years old) who couldv'e provided the alcohol!Maybe that young man is just as much to blame for what happened!Don't get me wrong,it's

There are too many ppl responsible for this, granted Nick was driving. Bless him, John got into that car willingly, a sad but true fact. Nick's parents were very much aware (according to reports) of his need for speed. What a sad situation there child is in because of their lack of direction. No parent gets it a 100% right, but that is a doozie. But there is a lesson for all to learn. Tak

I hope he doesn't sleep at night, and there should be no civil suit. Hulk Hogan should give those people what they want. His SON took Their SON! How would he feel? His son is a spoiled, rotten child who got everything he wanted and had no idea of reprocusions. Now he knows at the expense of a LIFE! BOO!!!

Had law enforcement been non-bias like it's supposed to be, and punished him the first time he offended, Nick wouldn't have been able to legally get behind a wheel and we wouldn't be discussing this.

I also believe Nick's parents share some blame as well as law enforcement on this. The Hogans knew Nick was irresponsible and they should have taken away his pretty sports cars if he was using them in public and not on a track. Also, law enforcement pulled him over time and time again for going over 100 mph, & I believe driving drunk. On his first offense he should have had his lic

I also wanted to add that Nick's been drag racing for years and his friend John knew exactly what he was doing when he got in that car. John was not wearing a seatbelt on top of that. I'm very sorry he was hurt because he does not deserve that but to put sole blame on Nick alone is naive. John chose to get in that car with wreckless Nick and now John has some very unfortunate cons

I think Nick acted totally irresponsibly and deserves his sentence. But to say we should throw away the key is just no fair. He's 17, how many incredibly stupid things did you do when you were that age that could have had much worse consequences? And wouldn't you have appreciated some mercy? Clearly he did not purposefully hurt his friend and he will carry the guilt of what he did
