Zooey Deschanel Chosen As One of the “Most Gifted Comedy Actresses!” Plus Her New Love

It's Zooey Deschanel's planet and the rest of us are happily living in it. Fans first spotted the actress-singer in Cameron Crowe's classic film, "Almost Famous." Since then, she's become known for her offbeat style and her wicked sense of humor. Zooey currently stars in the FOX Network hit, "New Girl."

With her distinct style, deadpan delivery and unique good looks, Zooey has the world at her feet. Sure, she's got a divorce under her belt but in the fame game, who doesn't? Her ex is none other than Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard. The two split six months ago. Zooey, however, appears to be moving forward with another Hollywood persona, Jamie Linden. Linden is the screenwriter who penned "Dear John" and "We Are Marshall." Zooey announced her new love interest by hitting the "Magic Mike" party hand-in-hand with Jamie.

The Hollywood Reporter seems to agree with Jamie that Zooey is a hot property, but for entirely different reasons. HR has named the fan fave one of "TV's Most Gifted Comedy Actresses." In the lovely photos by Ramona Rosales, Deschanel sports a tea-length black floral dress. With her dark good looks she evokes Old Hollywood glam.

ZD shares tales of using humor at a young age. The LA native explains, "My parents say I tried to make them laugh when I was a baby, which I don't really trust." She confesses, "I was always awkward and a little chubby. The only way I could get through the day was to make somebody laugh, make fun of myself first so others couldn't." The Golden Globe and Grammy award nominee insists that she loves her fans. She tells the mag, "Girls come up to me who are dressed exactly like I am, same hair and everything. I'm super-flattered. Oh my, I'm looking into a mirror. But they're 16."

Zooey seems to be taking it all in stride. Other celebs named to the Hot List? The comedic actress rundown includes "Veep" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Christina Applegate of "Up All Night," the funnywoman of "Modern Family," Julie Bowen, Laura Dern of "Enlightened" and of course "Glee" coach-in-residence, Jane Lynch. Martha Plimpton of "Raising Hope" also made the list. The epic shoot took place at the Hollywood Tower in Los Angeles. We're betting that they cracked each other up!

So what do you think? Are you a Zooey fan?
