New Year's Eve rang in at No. 1 but with a weak start at the box office, Box Office Mojo reports.

The Garry Marshall film, starring Lea Michele, Ashton Kutcher and Zac Efron among others, grossed an estimated $13.7 million in its opening weekend. That's a far cry from its predecessor, Valentine's Day, which opened to $52.4 million in 2010.

The weekend's other new wide release, The Sitter, grabbed $10 million to take No. 2.
