LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The iconic dark teen comedy movie "Heathers," which starred Winona Ryder, Christian Slater and Shannen Doherty, is reportedly getting a second life on the small screen.

According to Variety, a TV series based on the 1988 movie about a girlfriend and boyfriend who take down the popular clique at a high school is being developed by FOX, Sony and Lakeshore Entertainment.

The team behind the project is still deciding how to update the concept 20 years after it's debut, but said the original characters, Veronica Sawyer (Winona Ryder), J.D. (Christian Slater) and the "Heathers," would be included.

"We had the title, and talked about doing a film remake at times," said Lakeshore's Gary Lucchesi. "But doing it for TV seemed like a fresh and original idea."

Can't people come up with any original ideas anymore? Movie remakes, TV show remakes....Seriously, it's annoying.

Whether she wins her actressing role or not.. Can anyone think of any difference in her performance? Really.. Let’s be realistic. If you like her movies.. “You like her movies..” Personally I don’t watch them because America finds her good enough to do what she does.. But not good enough to merely… And she’s Ok with it! And no. I don’t love her.. Not anymore.

Please don't ruin a classic! There are some things that shouldn't be touched. I also agree with the posts above.

No, stupid parents who do not raise their children properly to differentiate reality and "Hollywood". Heathers was a great movie and I don't recall it leading kids in it's time to try to blow up their schools because they did not like popular students.
