Whitney Houston's Last One-On-One Interview -- Conducted By Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson

Whitney Houston chats with Access Hollywood on the set of 'Sparkle' in Detroit on November 10, 2011
 -- Access Hollywood

Despite her well-chronicled struggles, Whitney Houston recently appeared to be in the midst of a successful comeback, returning the studio to make new music and heading back to the silver screen with a role in the upcoming musical drama "Sparkle."

The beloved superstar sat down with Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson on the set of the film -- for what has sadly become the final one-on-one interview with Whitney, who died on Saturday at the age of 48 - and reflected on the support system that carried her through her the rough patches during her three-decade career.

"There will be the ups, there will be the downs, there will be the all-arounds," Whitney told Shaun, on the "Sparkle" set in Detroit in November. "But your belief, your faith and your determination [and] the encouragers - the people who encourage you to do and be the best you can - it is a blessing."

The "I Will Always Love You" singer said her family had been a source of overwhelming, unconditional support - especially her 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina (with ex-husband Bobby Brown).

"I have a mother that's very strong and family that surround me and constantly tell me they love me," she told Shaun. "My daughter is my greatest inspiration. My greatest, my greatest."

Shaun told the star that a friend had asked that she impart to Whitney that thousands of people are "rooting for her."

"Do you feel that?" Shaun asked.

"Oh yeah!" Whitney answered, emphatically. "I've got some good saints out there - that's right - that pray for me constantly. You've gotta have that! You do. For those who don't believe - you do."

Shaun added that Whitney looked beautiful, to which Whitney responded, "I'm older, I'm matured... I'm looking forward to the years to come. Good years."

yet again the media fuel peoples perceptions that she died because of drugs what gives them the right to pull the unfortunate demise of a great legend through the mud when she is no longer able to defend herself.what about her family they are already hurting they do not need to read all the things that's being said. I say shame on those who outwardly want to criticise her. R.I.P Whitney x x x

Perfect talent, perfect life, perfect success - still chose a selfish path of destruction using drugs for her own self gratification. What a waste.

The Sainthood of Whitney Houston begins with this Fluff piece.
May she rest in peace, But her demise was no doubt of her own making, those satellites who surround stars are nothing more than paid enablers afraid of being removed from their orbit should they try to deviate the star from the path of self destruction.

We are all accountable for our own actions. She claimed that her family tried their best for her. This is a very sad end to a story that started well. She will be greatly missed.

Not really. She wasn't missed before her death so unlikely after death.

Why is everyone so shocked? Whitney Houston took drugs. She drank like a fish. She smoked, partie hard and burnt the candle at both ends. She knew her life style could kill her, and yet she carried on knowing it would leave her children with out a mother. Thats what i call selfish. Plus what kind of a message was the likes of her and Amy Winehouse sending out to the youth of today? Its ok to take drugs. Well, no it isnt!!!
