Whitney Houston "Shaky," Erratic at Club Two Nights Before Death

Whitney Houston "Shaky," Erratic at Club Two Nights Before Death

    Signs of trouble.

The cause of Whitney Houston's shocking Saturday death at age 48 has yet to be determined, but the "Saving All My Love for You" singer, who struggled with drug and alcohol abuse in her later life, made a bizarre appearance just two evenings before.

    PHOTOS: Whitney Houston's life remembered

At a pre-Grammys party at Tru Hollywood Thursday evening, the beloved Grammy-winning singer seemed "wasted" and "moody" as she exited the club past midnight, according to a witness. "She reacted angrily to the security guards trying to get her into her car...and started cussing them out."

Although the superstar smiled when fans approached her for autographs, "she would get moody again in a split second," the observer says. "It was sad because her fans noticed that she was really shaky as she left the venue. She definitely was not in control of herself."

Yet, the next day, doing a sound check for a planned performance at mentor Clive Davis' annual Grammys party, Houston "was fine" doing a sound check, according to another source. "She was present and ready...She had water to keep her vocals clear, and was trying to not smoke."

If you had a girlfriend or boyfriend in the 80's you played Whitney for them, if you had just ended a relationship, you played Whitney, if there was a girl or guy you wanted to impress with a song, you played Whitney, if you just wanted to smile or cry, you played Whitney. Its a sad day indeed.

I have and always will blame her husband aka Badboy Bobby Brown for getting her hooked on drugs. She couldn't get clean for herself, her career and notoriaty, but most importantly, she couldn't Stay clean for her own daughter, Bobbi Christine!!!! Very tragic that another beautiful voice is gone!!

Bobby Brown didn't introduce Whitney to Hard Drugs, She introduced him. I'm not saying this to point the finger at any one but your being mad at Bobby for something he didn't do.

Substance abuse is a choice, its not forced on anyone. What a waste of great talent.

Yes, but addiction is addiction and there are different levels of addiction for different people. Sometimes people just can't kick it no matter how hard they try.

Why does it hurt so bad? Why do I feel so sad? Her last performance was "Yes, Jesus loves me" - to me that's the only consolation in this. Wish she didn't have to go but I guess it was her time. Thanks to God and Whitney for the beautiful blessing of her voice. May the Lord grant peace and rest to her soul and comfort to her daughter, family, personal friends and fans!

No one is ever in "a better place." The only place anyone should ever be is with the people they love and those who love them. At a time like this words are so inadequate. My deepest sympathy to her family and to all who loved her. From a fan who loved her voice from beginning to end.
