Former American Idol finalists opened up to Usmagazine.com about Joanna Pacitti getting the boot from Season 8's Top 36 after it'd been suggested she had a close relationship with executives in the company that produces the show.

Season 2 Winner Ruben Studdard : "This opportunity wasn't for her. Maybe God has something else for her."

See where your favorite Idols are now!

Season 1 Runner-Up Justin Guarini: "I believe in second chances. I don't think I'd be here without a second chance, and probably a third or fourth chance. Everyone needs to be held up to the same standards on American Idol, and I think that's important, I think that's important for the reputation of ours. Unfortunately, she was disqualified from the show, but I think the exposure is going to be huge for her. Hopefully she gets the break that she absolutely deserves because she is fantastic and I think that she just hasn't quite hit it. Hopefully now this'll give her the push... I remember Simon saying, 'You forget your lyrics you're going home,' and she did it twice. You have to be held up to the same standards. There are other people who've sung well who've had to go home. I applaud Idol for being consistent.

Look back on the most controversial Idols of all time!

Season 6's Chris Sligh: "I just heard about it! I think a lot of contestants don't actually read the contracts that they give you. I actually read every word of it so I knew that I couldn't have a record deal, which I didn't have, I couldn't have a publishing deal...So if you're dumb enough to be that dumb, then oh well."

Remember these terrible Idol auditions?

Season 7's Michael Johns : "One thing you cannot do is know people who work for Coke or Fox or 19 [Production Company] or anything like that. That's why I could never go on Wheel of Fortune: me and Pat Sajak go way back. It's never good to hear that she never got a chance."

See all the Idols who have gotten married and had babies.

Season 7's Carly Smithson : "I'm not sure why she was disqualified; I don't know what it was about. I had previous experience, several other people last year had previous experience, and it just means that I pretty much worked my whole life to get where I'm at. It's American Idol, it's the American Dream -- of course everyone wants to follow it."

Her performances are good, but she won't be able to get into the LA machine as it is much too preconcieved from the top down. She lacks originality or a view of the world other than from behind the bus that just left. Maybe she should consider Soaps, like Rick Springfield.

I'm glad she was disqualified. She already had a contract, and she has a ton of connections in Hollywood. The people who are in the top 36 have never had those connections, and they deserve those connections. Joanna needs to stop being a greedy-greedy and call up her agent or whatever and get her own record contract. Let people who deserve to be on American Idol, be on American Idol!

This is why I do not watch American Idol. They never give people (who had a career, but failed) get another shot. They took her second chance and %@!*#ed it up the ass. Simon Cowell is, how can say this..... very %@!*#ing ungrateful of other people's talents. I want to round everyone up for this show to be canceled, or I can sue Fox (or Fux). That's It From Me. Thank You a
