Vince Vaughn is finally married with children in "Couples Retreat." The star, who excels at playing single guys who play the field, was ready for a comedy about couples trying to work out their problems in a pricey relationship counseling center in Bora Bora.

Parade.com's Jeanne Wolf found out that Vaughn, 39, seems serious about taking a walk down the aisle. After all, he's engaged to Canadian real estate agent Kyla Weber.

Getting serious about settling down: "For the first time I've thought in a real way about wanting to have kids. I think as I'm getting older my priorities have shifted. I thought, 'I want to have a family. I'm really ready for that. I really feel like that would be what life is calling me to do.' So I was ready to do a romantic comedy about couples who are trying to figure that out."

A little relationship advice: "My character thinks he's succeeding at what he's been told life should be -- getting a job, making money, and raising his kids. But where are you in that? You start to come in last because the priorities -- the obligations of life -- are taking up your time and you forget to have fun with the person that you're with. If you're constantly solving problems with that person, you're kind of dimming the flame. It's important to go outside and lay a blanket down or go to a concert together. Just go have fun and go laugh with each other. Don't try to solve everything. At least give yourself some fuel to get through all the obligations that couples all have to go through."

What he's been looking for in a woman: "Friendship is the biggest thing for me, and also a sense of humor. I like someone that can make me laugh. I like to laugh at stuff, especially myself. So, I think you have to be able to roll with life. Life is always peaks and valleys, there's going to be good times and bad times. So the biggest thing, for me, is having someone that makes you laugh and that you trust. When you're younger, you kind of have your priorities in a different place, but as you get older -- I think that becomes what's most important, at least to me."

And it may take a few compromises: "I don't like to do dishes, but as I've gotten older I'm sort of getting into it. I think there is a kind of dynamic with men and women, where guys are kind of less concerned with what color the curtains will be. They just want to sign off and have the conversation stop. And girls are kind of, like, making us feel it's kind of an important decision and one we should weigh in on."

Will men ever understand women?: "I've got two older sisters and I've always gotten along really well with them. I love women, but I think that there's always a little bit of a different way of communicating. It takes a while, sometimes. I think it's one of the great challenges, one of the oldest games around, just trying to figure out how do you decipher what's being said and what a woman really wants."

Avoiding an R-rating: "There's no intentional F-words in the movie. There's no GD or taking the Lord's name in vain. This movie didn't warrant that. I think there's a love that comes off the movie in spite of the fact that we deal with adult stuff. I loved it because it didn't go so raunchy. It's like a Cosby record in a sense in that you're dealing with something in a way that's funny but not too down and dirty."

Well, there is that yoga class filled with sexual innuendo: "That actually came from my own experience. I had a girlfriend in L.A. who took me to a yoga class. While it was going on I was saying to myself, 'Is this really happening?' It was like the instructor was making all these moves and he was basically dry humping the girls. Nobody batted an eye. I felt like I was in 'The Twilight Zone.' So we had our class in the movie with a creepy yoga guy."

You don't need to go to Bora Bora to find happiness: "Ultimately, the answers aren't within some all-powerful person or some mystical place far away from home. Those answers are usually inside ourselves, and they're usually personal, and they're usually, depending on the individual, whatever that is for them."

I love Vince Vaughn...it's too bad that it took him until now to decide that he's ready for marriage and a family. I thought he and Jennifer Aniston made a great couple, and since he says that friendship and a someone who can make him laugh are important in a relationship, he could have grown up a little bit while he was with Jen they probably could have had a great marriage and ki
