Victoria Beckham is no stranger to landing magazine covers. She first took the world by storm as part of the girl group, the Spice Girls, then as an extremely talented fashion designer and now she can add guest editor to her resume. The former singer not only covers the September issue of Glamour magazine, she was also the magazine's first guest editor. We also finally find out the answer we've all been wanting to know - why doesn't she smile? So what do you think of her newest magazine cover and interview?
On the cover of the first ever full-fashion issue of Glamour, the 38-year-old is in a bath while wearing a tiara and getting ready to blow a handful of bubbles. "Love, Victoria" is written in flowing black script over the suds. It's a fabulous and saucy photo and not something you would typically expect from the beauty, but it absolutely works and she looks lovely.
While we have yet to see the full spread, there are two photos from the shoot that are quickly flying around the Internet. One shows her wearing a long-sleeve orange lace top, black high-waist panties and a black belt. She's sporting black nailpolish, red lipstick and a coiffed hairdo as she gets ready to drink a milkshake while standing in front of an open fridge. The second photo shows her standing at a desk with a pen tip in her mouth while wearing large glasses and a red v-neck dress that has three black horizontal stripes going across the bodice and waist. The red dress is actually one of her own designs and one which she wore in Beijing back in April 2012 while on a business trip. If forced to choose a favorite between the two, we're going to have to go with the first photo. It's a fantastic, colorful shot that showcases her in a different light than we're used to seeing her.
Being a the first ever guest editor at Glamour magazine is quite the accomplishment and the fashionista was the perfect pick to do it. When asked during the interview about the experience, she said "It's been exciting for me to see my ideas come to life, from type colors to photo selection to casting. I even made my own list of Glamour fashion Don'ts to keep out of the issue: boat shoes (unless of course you're designer Alber Elbaz or on a boat!), Bermuda shorts, nose rings, Crocs, and American tan tights (that's nude pantyhose to you)." It seems as if almost everyone has read or is reading "50 Shades of Grey," including Posh herself, and she explained "I'm halfway through the second one. I even bought my mum the book! But every time she tries to engage in conversation about it, I kind of dodge the subject. I don't really want to talk to my mother about S&M." All of us who have read the book feel your pain! During the interview, we finally get the answer as to why the fashionista is rarely seen smiling. When asked why that is, she explained "Do you know, I don't know?! I actually used to smile a lot in pictures. I think I only stopped smiling when I got into fashion. [ Laughs ] Fashion stole my smile! I've created this person. And I'm not saying that's not me, but I wouldn't say that's the whole me…. It's an armor that goes up." Bring the smile back!
Let's hear it! What do you think of her newest magazine cover and interview?
