Vanessa Hudgens: 'High School Musical' Cast Is 'Done'

In San Francisco to shoot "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," the latest installment in the popular Disney series, Vanessa Hudgens spoke out on the franchise's future.

Asked if there would be a "High School Musical: The College Years," Hudgens told Newsweek, "Not for us. We're pretty much done, I think."
"HSM3" will follow Hudgens, Zac Efron and the rest of the cast into their last year at East High School, with Kenny Ortega returning as director and choreographer. With senior year comes college acceptances - and the end of an era.

"We don't all go to the same school," she said, revealing that her character, Gabriella, is accepted at Stanford.
Hudgen's own future looks bright too. The singer/actress has a new pop album, "Identified," a hot new video for lead single "Sneakernight," and plans to step out on tour.

And she and on-screen rival Ashley Tisdale have been collaborating on their own project.
"When we're really bored, sometimes we'll make little music videos on her computer," she said, though noting they weren't quite release-worthy.

Boredom aside, Hudgens already sounds ready to take a well-deserved break.
"After [touring], I want to relax for a minute, be able to breathe, feel life, buy a house, kind of get situated," she said.

And spend a little quality time with co-star and boyfriend Zac Efron, no doubt. And while their real-life love story remains a mystery - that is all by design "Only because I don't want to talk about it, she said. "It might hurt the relationship. That's something I have to myself."
However she was quick to get her hands dirty on the subject of Efron's rumored showering habits - or lack thereof.
"That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard," she said. "Whoever came up with that is completely idiotic. He showers! He showers! Believe me, he does."
