LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- It appears the commute for Betty Suarez and Daniel Meade might be about to get a whole lot shorter.
ABC is reportedly moving the production of "Ugly Betty" to New York, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The hit sitcom, which centers around the fictional New York-based fashion magazine Mode, currently shoots at a studio in Los Angeles.
Although the show's pilot was shot in Manhattan, the network decided to move subsequent production out to LA to keep production costs lower.

When contacted by Access Hollywood, a rep for Touchstone TV, which produces "Betty," said the move east wasn't set in stone.
"There's not a final decision yet. We're exploring opportunities," the rep told Access.

Filming of the current season of "Ugly Betty" is scheduled to wrap up on Friday.
