Season premiere episodes of some of television's most popular shows on Thursday were down significantly from last year.

From ABC's Grey's Anatomy and Ugly Betty to CBS' Survivor and NBC's ER and The Office, every season premiere that aired on Thursday disappointed, according to the Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed blog.

The two-hour premiere of Grey's Anatomy won the night with 18.3 million viewers but was down 18% from last year's premiere.

Ugly Betty had 9.8 million viewers - off 15% from last season's opener.

Survivor aired it's first HD episode and its first two-hour premiere - but it ranked as the lowest-rated premiere of the show with 13 million viewers, down 12%.

My Name Is Earl garnered just 6.4 million viewers, down 29% from last year. The Office was off 6% with 9.2 million viewers while the final season of ER opened with a new premiere low of 7.9 million viewers, down 20%.

Separately, Fox's Do Not Disturb, starring Jerry O'Connell and Niecy Nash became the first show canceled this season after three low-rated episodes.

i think for Grey's Anatomy, people got tired of the drama...same old same old...love lives that are so tangled up..looks like soap opera already...that's what happens when shows are sometimes based on the love lives of the characters, pretty soon you run out of story line...as to the office and ugly betty, ill think those shows will pick up...
