BURBANK, Calif -- On the next "TV One Access," host Tatyana Ali and correspondent Quddus trace the steps of the most fascinating trailblazers and pioneers who have transformed their respective fields. "The Transformers" is an hour-long special produced by TV One's monthly entertainment news program, "TV One Access." The special premieres Sunday, August 16, 2009 on cable's TV One.

From Quincy Jones, the first and only African-American man to nab a Best Picture Oscar nomination and has 27 Grammy Awards, to Tiger Woods and the Williams Sisters who shattered the race barriers in professional golf and tennis respectively, "TV One Access" explores the courageous ground breakers whose willingness to be first, paved the way for others to realize their dreams.

"It takes tremendous courage to go where no one has gone before and our select group of transformers were bold enough and brave enough to do just that," said Monique Chenault, Senior Producer, "TV One Access." "By tracking their phenomenal journeys into uncharted territories, we hope our viewers will be inspired and challenged to venture out beyond their own comfort zones."

"TV One Access" acknowledges the extraordinary achievements of "The Transformers," giving viewers an in-depth look at the impact they have had on their respective fields. The list includes Spike Lee, who helped changed the way African-Americans were perceived in Hollywood films and three-time NBA MVP Magic Johnson, who is also a devoted HIV/AIDS activist. Also highlighted is Lenny Kravitz, the multi-Grammy Award-winning singer who broke the record for most wins in the Best Male Rock Vocal category.

The special would not be complete without boxing superstar Laila Ali, Violet Palmer, the first and only female NBA referee and Cullen Jones, world record -setting Olympic swimmer. Lisa Leslie, the three-time WNBA MVP and four-time Olympic gold medal winner rounds out the list.
