TV Land comedy The Soul Man has been renewed for a second season, star Cedric the Entertainer announced on Twitter.
"Just got word #TheSoulMan has been picked up for season #2," he tweeted on Tuesday night. "Thank all of you who wrote in and/or just watched me @niecynash bout to Turn Up!"

A spin-off of the network's Hot in Cleveland, the series stars Cedric as a music superstar-turned-minister who moves his family, including his wife Lolli (Nash) and daughter Lyric (Jazz Raycole), to St. Louis. It debuted in June to 1.9 million viewers.
