Nashville, Tennessee, was buzzing with celebrities for the 2012 CMT Music Awards last night! Many of the best loved country music stars attended the event, and while almost everyone donned their finest outfits to walk the red carpet, others didn't quite manage to look their best. Here is a look at five of the biggest fashion failures at the CMT Music Awards.
In a very Prom-esque style dress, "American Idol" contestant Skylar Laine looked many levels of wrong. The grey/silver color was far too drab for her, the roses too girly, the sparkles too ugly and the cut unflattering. We love to see a woman with curves, but the material around her middle looks a tad too tight to be comfortable. Finally, the one pink strand in her hair was an attempt to add interest to the piece that totally failed. Not a good fashion day for Skylar!
Laura Bell Bundy
A strange new trend that seems to be taking the celeb world by storm, is the mini dress with frilly skirt. There are only a handful of stars who can really pull the look off, and Laura is not one of them. The bodice wouldn't be half as bad if it didn't have an ugly frill underneath it. It widened her hips, which was a real shame because she has an incredible figure.
Out of all the stunning dresses Panettiere could have chosen for the CMT awards, she chose an outfit that would have been more appropriate on a 5-year-old attending a birthday party. While the skirt was quite cute, the overly embellished top was a bit too cutesy, as was her hair. The plain black shoes she chose did nothing to help the overall ensemble.
Talented, she may be but Lauren Alaina's sense of style still needs a lot of work. The 17-year-old singer looked a little plain in her black, sparkly dress and the royal blue heels made the whole outfit look even worse. Although there were worse dresses at the ceremony, this is probably the biggest overall fashion blunder of the whole night.
