Instead, Cruise -- who is up for best supporting actor for Tropic Thunder -- will be hitting the carpet with her father (and his mother) as Holmes performs her final run of All My Sons on Broadway.
"Kate said, 'You go.'" he explained on Friday's The View, adding that he'll be with "her father and my mother."

"She's going to meet me afterward," Cruise said of her plans to fly out after the NYC show. "We'll be at the parties together."
Cruise said he has seen Holmes on stage "over 30 times."

At a recent performance, he said he sat in the wings with daughter Suri, 2, and she almost stepped out on stage.
