NEW YORK, New York -- Tom Cruise may be stag on Sunday's Golden Globes red carpet, but he certainly won't be alone.

While Katie Holmes will miss the awards show while she is in New York for the closing night of her Broadway play, "All My Sons," Tom has found two special people to take her place as his Globes dates.

"I'm going to go with [Katie's] father and my mother," Tom revealed Friday morning on "The View."

"You're not going to go to her closing?" Barbara Walters asked.

"No, we talked about it and Kate said, 'You go,'" Tom noted.

But the superstar couple plans to reunite before the night is over.

"She's going to meet me afterwards," Tom said of his wife. "She'll fly and join me and we'll be at the parties together."

As previously reported, it was important for Katie to be on-hand for the finale of the Broadway show she has devoted so much of her time to.

"Katie's decided to stay and do her last show," a rep for Katie previously told Fox News' Roger Friedman. "She won't be going with Tom to the Globes. The cast of 'All My Sons' has been like a family and they want to end it together."

And while Katie has devoted much of her time to her play, Tom has devoted his fair share to it as well.

"I've seen it over 30 times," he told the ladies on "The View."

But when Katie travels across the country after her show to be with Tom, there may even be reason for celebration, as Tom is up for the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in "Tropic Thunder."

He'll be competing against "Tropic" co-star Robert Downey Jr., as well as Ralph Fiennes ("The Duchess"); Philip Seymour Hoffman ("Doubt"); and Heath Ledger ("The Dark Knight").

Katie needs to be in a movie. Not some light weight comedy junk, but a good kick-butt action-adventure-drama-suspence-SOMETHING with teeth that will show what agood box office draw she can be.

I have always liked Tom Cruise in his movies. He is very talented. He did dissapoint me this last week when he talked about John Travolta and death of son in an interview. It was not his place. Grief is a very very private issue. I have buried a child. I am not in same spotlight that these men are. What Tom did was sheer gossip and not professional.

Let's see, a week ago Cruise was heartbroken on TV about the death of a dear friend's son. However, tonight his main concern was getting his wife back from NY so they could party the night away. You can always depend on a quality act from that guy. Oh well, Tommy, you'll always have the 'old gals' on "The View"!

I think Tom is a nice guy. He has apologized so much and his efforts seem very sincere. I hope he makes a comeback, he deserves it. I hope Brad and Angelina retire. They are Box Office POISON
