Last night, "Dancing With the Stars" aired its week 5 results show. In addition to results, the show featured a Macy's Stars of Dance performance, as well as performances by The Band Perry and Selena Gomez.
Here's a look at some of the most memorable moments of last night's show.
Andy Wants To Be On 'Team Picklerdick'
Next week, the contestants will be competing in team dances. When Brooke Burke-Charvet asked Andy Dick if he wanted to be on Team Kellie or Team Zendaya, the comedian answered Team Kellie. That way, he could say that he was on "Team Picklerdick."
Apparently he is allowed to say that on national television!
When Brooke asked Tom Bergeron to help diffuse the awkward moment, Tom answered, "for the first time in 16 seasons, I got nothing."
Catherine Has Some Competition In Tristan
I am loving the bromance between "Bachelor" Sean Lowe and Tristian MacManus. In a dance partnership between Sean and Tristan, Sean joked that he would be okay with being the woman. He later joking asked Tristan to "accept this rose."
Tom joked that Sean's wedding to Catherine Giudici was scheduled to air in August, but that "after seeing him with Tristan, I don't know."
Selena's Costume Was Not Offensive
I was wondering about the hype surrounding the bindi controversy, but watching her performance at the "Dancing With the Stars" results show, I didn't really find anything objectionable.
People wear Christian crosses and yin yang jewelry for fashion purposes all the time, yet no one ever seems to question it. Some people seem to be getting worked up over nothing. I doubt Selena was trying to offend anyone with her Indian-themed performance.
Len Needs To Work On His 'Hip Action'
This week, Brooke asked D.L. Hughley if he believed that both comedians would be able to stick around this week. It turns out that she was onto something. The hammer fell on D.L. while fellow comedian Andy survived to dance another week.
Between D.L. and Andy, the right person went home. Andy is not the best dancer, but he has such a positive attitude and is really making the most of his time on the show.
D.L. always seemed to have a chip on his shoulder, and seemed to take everything way to personally. Still, we're glad he was able to leave the show with a smile. After his elimination, he joked that judge Len Goodman needed to work on his "hip action," and that he would will him his "hip replacement" in order to make that happen.
Victor Ortiz and Lindsay Arnold survived the bottom 2 for the second week in a row. Still, I don't see him sticking around for too long.
Ingo Rademacher and Kym Johnson landed in the bottom 3. Given that they performed first and gave a relatively forgettable performance, I was not surprised. Still, I'm glad they were able to survive. Ingo is a likable guy, and he seems to be improving every week.
Andy and Sharna Burgess were also safe this week, escaping the "jeopardy box" for once. Sean and Peta Murgatroyd are also safe, "though not necessarily with Catherine."
