    Tim Tebow’s Alter Ego

INDIANAPOLIS – Tim Tebow will play no part in the Super Bowl but his visit to Indianapolis ahead of Sunday’s big game has certainly been eventful.

Tebow enjoyed the festivities at the EA Sports Madden Bowl at the Bud Light Hotel in downtown, pairing with Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham of the New Orleans Saints to win the annual video games competition.

But it was during a conversation with two attractive female servers behind the scenes where the Denver Broncos superstar showed his real sense of humor. Tebow told the ladies, who were taking a break from serving the crowd of around 1,000 guests, that his real name was “Tommy Turbo.”

"He told us he was called Tommy Turbo, not Tebow,” said a waitress named Deborah, 26. “He said it was because he was a really good chess player and played really fast. He was pretty funny and we had a good time talking to him. I know he is famous but he was really friendly and a lot of fun.”

“I actually didn’t know who he was,” said her friend and colleague, Carlina, 25. “He kept saying his name was Turbo and I was like ‘what?’ I don’t know a lot about football.”

Tebow’s popularity has shown no sign of waning following his remarkable series of comeback victories during the regular season and he was mobbed by well-wishers immediately after his arrival in Indianapolis on Thursday morning.

His partnership with Brees and Graham in the Madden NFL 12 event was one of the highlights of his evening and even came with the kind of dramatic fourth quarter comeback that he has become renowned for. “It was great playing with those guys and to get the win,” Tebow told omg! “I am competitive in everything I do and I had a blast.”

Tebow’s Broncos came unstuck against the New England Patriots in both the regular season and the AFC divisional playoff game and the 24-year-old predicted that Tom Brady and his teammates would emerge victorious on Sunday.

“It is going to be a good game on Sunday,” he said. “But for me it is hard to go against Tom Brady.”

It's a nice change to see somebody that isn't all "puffed up" about himself. Go tommy Turbo!

What does he have to be all puffed up about? His 45% completion rating?

        @Nick W
No, but maybe his 9-5 record this year as a starter, including leading his team to the playoffs, and a playoff win... but other than that, I guess you're right.....

After all the exposure of the gangsta thugs in the NFL it's refreshing to see someone like Tebow. It's even better to see Brees, Graham and Tebow together.

I'm with you on that..I happen to be a Broncos fan from a long way back, so I've seen them come and go...but I've watched the game I love devolve into mayhem. It's nice to see some guys who have a sense of sportsmanship, and a little perspective on the game that is just a game.

So now your true colors are showing. Just because the NFL is 99% black, and they are all uneducated rap wanna be aholes, who play the game like they are still in the ghetto, doesnt mean there should be this huge ressurgence to christian role models. There are plenty of WHITE football players who arent all Jesus jesus jesus and who are never in trouble! I wouldnt trust a fking christian as far as I could throw one..

FINALLY ,somebody decent to show the kids a good role model.

sports personalities are not role models, parents teachers and preachers are role models not football stars,,they play football,,,thats it...just football.

anyone can be a role model
      • Bill G 3 months ago
With what's been in the news lately I'm not sure we should look to teachers and preachers as role models but that's not the point. EVERYONE that a child sees in life is a role model whether they want to be or not. Some are good role models and some are bad role models. Hopefully kids are smart enough to see the difference. That's the role of the parent.

Tebow! One of a precious few decent, polite, nice looking, moralistic well mannered, compassionate young men, who is of the highest standard, and highly qualified very talented and all around very athletic, NFL pro quarterbacks, to ever play the game. As far as personal qualities, Tebow has it all. He is not just very talented and very qualified to be the Bronco's starting quarterback, who conducts himself above reproach, on and off the field, he is involved in personal efforts to help "special needs" children and many important charities. Unlike the average pro qb, who does drugs, starts fights on the field and always in jail or in trouble off the field, Tebow is indeed, far and above the boring personalities we usually have to endure, during an NFL game. Go Tebow, ! Can hardly wait to see him start the 2012 season with a bang!

Tebow is a good guy. But that alone doesn't make a great football player. I hope he sticks with it and becomes a better player.

Lol this is great. The more haters the more I am disappointed with them. It would seem they just have a bad life hating on everything. The big reason I say that is because they are so desperate they are going after Tim "Turbo" for no reason.
    • caboboy  •  Oakland, California  •  3 months ago
Holy smokes, an honest to goodness "good guy" in professional sports?
    • Leroy O. Jackson  •  3 months ago
I don't get why people dislike Tim Tebow, there's nothing to dislike about him. It seems the polarization surrounding him has nothing to do with him at all but the fact he has strong beliefs. I think he makes people feel guilty for not being strong in their own beliefs, so they put him down for having his. We celebrate the morally bankrupt (Jersey Shore, Paris Hilton etc.), but then somebody like Tebow comes along and espouses such horrible things as abstinence until marriage and clean living and GOD FORBID, let's try and keep him down.

Go Tommy Turbo, let's hope you'll be the one getting a ring next year.

Tim's still popular because he's a good guy and a fierce competitor. He's only started for one season in the NFL. At this stage of Brady's career, he hadn't even thrown a pass in an NFL game, same with Aaron. Give TT a break just as you would any other rookie. He'll be significantly better in 2012. I give him props for living the Christian walk.
