Tim Gunn and Other Celibate Celebrities

    Tim Gunn

"Project Runway" host Tim Gunn revealed something seriously personal about his life this week: He's been celibate for 29 years!

"I haven't had sex in 29 years," Gunn revealed Tuesday on The Revolution. "Do I feel like less of a person because of it? No."

A mean ex-boyfriend inspired his abstinence after he criticized the fashion icon's sexual performance. However, he feels fulfilled as a person and doesn't care about sex.

"Do I feel like less of a person for it? No! Not even remotely."

Now we know why he's so creative -- he puts all of his sexual energy into his work.

Very few people are as dedicated to their celibacy as Gunn, but plenty of celebrities have claimed to shut out sex.

    Colin Farrell

Oversexed Irish actor Colin Farrell is about the last person we'd expect to take a vow of chastity. However, that's exactly what he did in 2008 -- if you believe tabloid reports.

"I've had enough of women," he allegedly told pals, according to the tabloid Daily Star on Sunday. Farrell allegedly hooked up with hot starlets like Britney Spears and his "Alexander" co-star Angelina Jolie.

"He has a whole new outlook on life. As far as he is concerned he finally has the right work/life balance. And, for once, that doesn't include women."

He's done with that now, though - the "Horrible Bosses" star had a son, Henry Tadeusz Farrell, with ex-girlfriend Alicja Bachleda in 2009.

    Charlize Theron

South African beauty Charlize Theron has reportedly abstained from sex for two years, according to the National Enquirer. The "Snow White and the Huntsman" star hasn't found anyone worthy of her ex-boyfriend, Stuart Townsend, according to sources.

"Charlize is not a fan of one-night stands, and since her breakup she's telling friends that 'I just haven't found anyone worthy,'" a source told the magazine.

It's a noble reason, if it's true. A few bed-hopping celebrities can learn from her choices.

    Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson came up in the industry during a time when every teen pop star - including Britney Spears -- claimed virginity. We later learned that Spears lost her V-card at a very young age, but Simpson really was a virgin until she married 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey in 2003.

The now-pregnant star has made up for lost time -- John Mayer even commented on her sexual prowess in an unfortunate Playboy interview, calling her "sexual napalm."

    Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has built a career on her sexuality, though she told the UK Daily Mail in 2010 that she was staying away from sex for the time being.

"I'm single right now and I've chosen to be single because I don't have the time to get to know anybody. So it's OK not to have sex, it's OK to get to know people. I'm celibate, celibacy's fine," she revealed, adding a message of girl power for her young fans.

"It's not really cool any more to have sex all the time. It's cooler to be strong and independent.

    Lenny Kravitz

Sexy singer Lenny Kravitz revealed in 2005 that he planned to remain sex-free during his tour. He was still celibate four years later.

    Not that it was easy.

"It's very hard. For some periods of time it's easy, and then it's really hard. It goes back and forth. It's not hard just walking through life, and you see women, and I admire them -- I love being around women," he said in 2009.
