'This Is It' Producer: 'I'm Glad We Left Some Things Out'

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Michael Jackson's death is not mentioned in his new concert film, "This Is It," for a reason, music supervisor Michael Bearden told MTV News.

"I'm glad we left some things out," Bearden, also an associate producer on the movie, told the site. "Especially the announcement of his passing."

The film, which is already heating up the box office, is taken from hundreds of hours of HD footages of the late King of Pop's rehearsals for his planned 50-concert run at London's O2 Arena.

And with Michael's three children planning on watching the movie, Bearden said he didn't want them to have face the news of their father's death once more.

"His children are going to watch this film and no one would want to relive that forever," he said. "The world is already mourning, so we don't need to force it on them."

Instead, the well-reviewed film offers a record of the star doing what he did best - performing.

"I think we have the great balance of his triumph and his comeback," Bearden concluded. "And I'm very happy."

The film earned an estimated $7.4 million domestically on Wednesday, with worldwide profits bringing in an additional $12.7 million.
