Nicollette Sheridan 's character Edie Brit finally bit the bullet on Sunday's
Desperate Housewives.
Her death took place in the first few minutes of the episode: She was driving home and crashed into a utility pole.
"To add insult to injury, I was electrocuted!" Edie said in a voiceover. "What can I say ... it was one of those days."
As all the housewives gathered around, Edie said, "I died just like I lived ... as the complete and utter center of attention!"
Look back at infamous TV catfightsThe rest of a show (which was narrated by Sheridan) was a eulogy to the character, flashing back to various shenanigans she got into with the other housewives.
"She will definitely be missed,"
Teri Hatcher told Usmagazine.com over the weekend. "I think she is irreplaceable, but I do think that a neighborhood, kind of like an ER, is a place where people rotate through. There are so many great actors and so many storylines imaginable that there has to be a way to fill and surprise the audience with something new."
