Taylor Swift: 'I'm Good At Being Single'

Taylor Swift chats with Access Hollywood during 'The Lorax' junket in Los Angeles on February 7, 2012 -- Access Hollywood

Taylor Swift may croon about the enchantment of love, but the superstar is currently flying solo.

"[I'm] completely [single]," Taylor told Access Hollywood correspondent Kit Hoover, when asked about her romantic status during a junket for Taylor's new animated film, "The Lorax," in Los Angeles.

"[Are you] loving it?" Kit asked.

"Yes! I'm actually really good at being single," the "Mean" singer answered with a smile. "As much as I love to complain about it, I'm actually very independent and I'm fine. I'm really good by myself.

"But I do love to complain about being single, even though I'm really I'm fine with it," she added.

The 22-year-old country cutie - who has been linked to Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhaal and more over the years - says she doesn't have a particular "type" when it comes to men.

"No, I'm random," she told Kit. "There's no way to predict a pattern. That's what my friends tell me.

"So, that's also kind of good, [it] sets the bar low for the future," she added, laughing.

The singer - who is known for airing her breakup grievances in song - said the fear of having their personal issues forever remembered on one of Taylor's hit albums doesn't usually scare off potential suitors.

"I don't think it ever bothers guys when things are good, like, in the beginning," she said. "I think it bothers them in the end when things aren't good, but that's not, then it's not really my problem anymore -- to care what they think about it.

Taylor lends her voice to "The Lorax" playing Audrey (alongside stars including Zac Efron, Betty White, Ed Helms and Danny DeVito), a character whose name holds sentimental value for the Dr. Seuss film.

"Dr. Seuss' wife was actually named Audrey, so it's really pretty cool that I get to play this part," she told Kit. "I have always loved Dr. Seuss. I love the rhyme schemes and the way that words just bounce off a page and the way that afterward you 've learned something, but you didn't realize it at the time because it was so much fun."

"The Lorax" opens in theaters on March 2.

Taylor is a beautiful and intelligent young lady who was producing her own songs at 19 yrs. old. She has a right to her own opinion and deserves to wait for the right one to come along. In the mean time enjoy yourself girl.

She is only 22. She has so much with her career to take place of relationships, which one has to learn overtime, but she needs to get her career solid, like she is doing, then she will feel more confident about dating, etc.

Find a guy who has nothing to do with the entertainment business like Dolly did. A guy who has his own interests but still loves and supports you

Some guys always treat others more strictly than treat themselves. They just cannot realize their waaknesses and immaturity. If you and your girlfriend or your boyfriend breaks up, I guess you will probably will a little upset, unless you have such experience for so many times or you are pretty old and are capable of facing it. Then, why are some guys here suppose that Taylor's songs are immature and monotonous? In my opinion, her songs really relate to me a lot. And she's already mature as she feels satisfied to be alone coz many girls cannot say that. (I mean if they are really sincere)

change genres. Country is always written as bar music or lost love. At least bar music is happy. They shot Blue and I'm feeling soooo sad.

I've got a perfect guy for ya Taylor. How about Timmy Tebow!!! You guys would be perfect together.

i think she would crush tebow. she seems the type to be brutally honest, and he seems to sensitive to whats said about him. just my opinion
      • Bo 3 months ago
If anything, I think he lets the criticism role off of him and then thanks God for his blessings. I don't think he's sensitive at all. If he was he would have been crushed already.

i can see why, she's not pretty at all, to much stuff on her face, she should just be natural. she would be cuter.

Makes me wish I was 22 again. I think she could talk me out of being single. Or better yet, sing me out of it.

My only beef with Taylor Swift are the world-weary lyrics. She's a kid. And has lived a charmed life - all 22 years of it. Not sure she's equipped to be doling out life and love advice to anyone.

She's not, shes being asked the questions; what is she supposed to do not answer. Stay single and let life take you where you need to be and maybe just maybe there you'll meet the person you're supposed to be with. I love Taylor and think she's not only massively talented but by far the sweetest and nicest entertainer to ever grace the stage.

FREDWCX Taylor Swift is not a kid she's an adult you ignorant idiotic dimwit

No Taylor, you're not "good at being single".. You're good at being a stupid no talent little psycho #$%$.. the being single thing is merely a byproduct!
      • Frances M 3 months ago
You're apparently an idiot to the nth degree. Can't even bring myself to answer your comment because I'm laughing so hard I can't hardly type. So, all I can say is crawl back under the rock that you apparently oozed out of and don't bother her with your mindless dribble.
      • EZY 3 months ago
You can't "bring yourself to answer" because you can't think of anything intelligent to say! You answered me to tell me you can't even answer me!.. and you are calling me an idiot?.. I'd say your post is a textbook example of "mindless dribble!".. Try again, #$%$.. only this time try "bringing yourself to answer" in your answer!.. hahaha!

please give me a break she is one of those girls who can't live without a man or keep a man. It's not always the guys fault taylor
      • cjm 3 months ago
Gina, I think she is living quite well without a man. She has achieved success above and beyond and she's barely out of her teens.. A little jealously here?

I love Taylor.... but she is NOT ok being single.
    • Blank Stare  •  Chicago, Illinois  •  3 months ago
I suppose it will be just as easy for her to write really lame songs about being single as it was for her to write really lame break up songs.
