Before she was famous, Taylor Swift used to get picked on in high school.

"[Growing up on a Christmas tree farm] was basically a shunning and thats never a good thing, you know?" Swift, 18, says in the December issue of Women's Health.

"A lot of girls thought I was weird. Actually, the word they liked to use was annoying," Swift adds. "I'd sit at their lunch table and they'd move to a different one."

Check out other stars who were bullied.

She hasn't become more popular since then.

"It's funny - I thought my contact list in my phone would grow if I was in the music industry," she says. "But I had more people in my phone book when I was in high school!"

The newly single star (who was dumped by Joe Jonas in a 27-second phone call) still has admirers - albeit sometimes unwanted.

While recently shopping at Victoria's Secret, "I look[ed] up and there are, like, 15 people looking at me, with camera phone out, waiting to take a picture of which kind of underwear I'm going to buy.

"[They were saying], 'Think she's a small or an extra small?" she says. "I wanted to be like, 'Uh guys? I can hear you."

Normally Swift doesn't have to worry about people bothering her in her Nashville hometown.

"Keith and Nicole live there. Tim and Faith live there," she says. "We can all go to the grocery store in our sweatpants because the paparazzi have no idea Nashville exists."

Swift moved with her family from Pennsylvania when she was 14. Her mom, Andrea, says : "It was never about 'I want to be famous.' Taylor never uttered those words. It was about moving to a place where she could write with people she could learn from."

She wrote her first song when just 8 years old. And while bff Miley Cyrus' first job was cleaning toilets, Swift earned enough cash from her writing skills to buy herself a Lexus 430 SC convertible, which she still drives.

I think this article is a little mixed up. In interviews, Taylor said that high school was great and that she didn't have problems there, it was middle school where she was picked on and did not have many friends.

Some of you guys are f'd up. Seriously, who are you people to judge? Do you people even know her? Have you met her? Maybe if you had a talk with her, she'd actually be much different. Now I do not personally know her, but at least I don't judge her. It surprises me how rude and judgment some people really are.

Bull%@!*#. My friend went to high school with her in PENNSYLVANIA (accent is totally fake) and she was a normal girl. They had class together and she wrote songs as her projects often. It was really cute. These are just stories to make it more fairy tail-esque. You know, the "you guys that are social rejects can totally be stars like me!" talk.

Okay seriously people you all have a lot to say. What have you guys done that is so much better that you can sit around and talk s*** about people that are doing a h*** of a lot better than you. She probably made more money as a child writting songs than you will ever think about making. Dont hate. She is a very beautiful young talented lady and God is the only one to judge!! Grow up!!!

and just because someone has more money doesn't make them better than anybody else. if anything they'll have a harder time staying grounded on important things in life. don't forget that
