Late night on October 26, Taylor Swift released news that's going to have fans shrieking in excitement. In conjunction with her new album, Red, she's going on tour in March 2013 and will visit 45 cities to perform 58 shows in North America. The first show will kick off in Omaha, Nebraska, on March 13 and she'll move state-to-state with a few stops in Canada until she finally ends her tour with three shows in Nashville from September 19 - 21. Talk about being one busy lady! Other than the announcement of her new tour dates, what else has she been up to lately?
British charts topper
It seems as if the "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" singer is taking over the world. For the first time ever, she's topped the British music charts with her album Red. As of publication, she's currently in Spot 9 after falling two spots. She's behind other familiar singers and bands including Maroon 5, PSY, Adele, Rihanna and Swedish House Mafia.
The entertainment world has been abuzz since the news broke that the relationship between the country crooner and her 18-year-old beau, Conor Kennedy, took a nosedive. Even Donald Trump weighed in on the breakup by tweeting " Re: Taylor and Conor--great news for Taylor!" Apparently he wasn't a fan of their relationship. Many have been wondering why the sudden split of the pair considering the two seemed to be going the serious route, but according to a friend "It was just a distance thing. No hard feelings. They're fine." It's also reported that the two haven't seen each other in over a month. Her impending tour likely wouldn't have done much good for their relationship either. However, another insider is reporting that the 22-year-old beauty came on a bit strong. The source reportedly told Radaronline.com "Conor's just an 18-year-old kid and wasn't ready for anything super serious, but Taylor is looking for her soulmate and it kind of freaked him out with how strong she came on." It was also reported that "Taylor is obsessed with the Kennedys and was living out a fairytale with Conor. But she was more obsessed with the idea of dating a Kennedy, than the actual Kennedy she was dating." We can't wait to hear the song that stems from this relationship and breakup.
Despite the recent breakup, the Kennedy family is still set to honor T-Swizzle at the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights' Ripple of Hope Awards Dinner on December 3 in New York City. Many have been wondering if her ties to the Kennedys helped her land the award, but according to Kennedy Center President, Kerry Kennedy, "What strikes me most about Taylor is the work she does away from the spotlight - her leadership in the movement for arts education, her generosity to communities devastated by natural disaster and especially the compassion she's shown as a proud defender against bullying and LGBTI discrimination. As my father Robert Kennedy said to the students of South Africa in 1966, our world's hope rests with our youth." Despite the obvious awkwardness that's bound to occur at the event thanks to the breakup of the young couple, there's no doubt the event will still go off without a hitch.
American Music Awards performance
It was just recently announced that the already busy music maven is going to be performing at the 40th Anniversary American Music Awards on November 18. The event will air live and will have additional performances by Nicki Minaj, Linkin Park and a variety of others. This year, the songstress is up for the Favorite Female Country Artist Award, but has already been nominated and won several times in the past. Between 2007 and 2011, she was nominated 12 times for an AMA and won every time except for her first nomination in 2007 and another time in 2009. We can't say we'd be surprised if she won yet again.
