Survivor winner Richard Hatch is back behind bars.

The reality star's sister claims he was sent to jail again because he granted a TV interview, the Associated Press reports.

Hatch, who won Survivor in 2000, was taken to the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office in Bourne, Massachusetts after being arrested at his sister's Newport, Rhode Island, home -- where he had been living under house arrest after serving nearly four years in prison for tax evasion.

Kristen Hatch said that she overheard a deputy say he was being jailed because "he did an interview."

Hours prior to his arrest, Hatch, 48, appeared on the Today show with host Matt Lauer. In the interview, he accused a prosecutor of misconduct and said he believed the judge in his case discriminated against him because of his sexual orientation. (In court papers filed earlier this year, Hatch complained of widespread prejudice in the justice system against gay people.)

He also told Lauer that being imprisoned and paying his lawyers has left him "financially devastated."

See who else crossed the law last year.

Hatch was convicted in 2006 for not paying taxes on the $1 million prize he won on the CBS reality show's first season. He was then sentenced to extra prison time for lying on the stand.

Both Lauer and Hatch said they received permission to conduct Tuesday's interview. Until the latest detainment, Hatch had been scheduled to be released from house arrest on Oct. 7.

crappy story, why was he arrested? could it be because he was under house arrest and went to another state, violating his parole? rules are rules and had he followed them the first time there would not be a problem. somebody needed to ask and report , what happened to journalism 101

Funny how Richard Hatch, an unknown prior to survivor, does four years for tax evasion but Obamas crooks get promoted to cabinet positions. Funny how this stuff happens.
