LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Sting 's daughter, Coco Sumner, is recovering after fracturing her skull in a freak accident at a Los Angeles restaurant.

Coco, 18, collapsed while dining with a friend and when she tried to stand up, she fell again, knocking her head on a chair as she fell to the ground.

As a result, she was taken to a LA-area hospital, where she has been treated in an intensive care ward.

Despite the seriousness of the injury, a rep for Sting told Access Hollywood the singer's daughter is now on the mend.

"Coco is recovering beautifully. The family thanks everyone for their concern," the rep said in a statement to Access.

Sting , who has been working in the U.S., reportedly rushed to his daughter's bedside after the accident, according to the UK's Mail On Sunday.

Coco's mother, Trudie Styler, reportedly flew to LA to be with her daughter, as well.

"One of the waiters helped her to her feet but she complained that she didn't feel well. The staff and Coco's friend were very concerned and called for an ambulance and Coco was taken to hospital," the Mail quoted a source as saying. "No one was taking any chances as it was quite a scary fall. She hadn't had anything to drink and it happened quite early into the evening."

Coco, an aspiring singer/songwriter, had been living in LA while working on her debut album.

"Trudie and Sting were obviously beside themselves with worry. It was a blessing that Sting was in the States at the time and was able to get to the hospital so quickly," a friend of the family told the Mail. "Coco is still very shaken but she is planning to come back to the UK very soon."

My thoughts are prayers are with Sting and his family. It's really touching that they are such a close family. There must be a karma out there helping us all.

I hope they figured out why she passed out to begin with. If she wasn't drinking, as they claim she wasn't, then collapsing at dinner is bad. I hope they look into that too!

They never mentioned in the story how she fell. Only that "One of the waiters helped her to her feet but she complained that she didn't feel well". This isn't a very detailed story or a very good story....

Sounds like Natasha Richardson all over again. Her recent death really might have saved this young lady's life. She is so blessed to still be here and able to recover. I hope that her parent's understand that.
