Steven Tyler On Madonna's Super Bowl Halftime Show

Carrie Underwood and Steven Tyler speak with Access Hollywood, February 2, 2012 -- Access Hollywood

"American Idol" judge and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler thinks Madonna's got it covered when it comes to Sunday's Super Bowl halftime show.

"If I were Madonna, I think she would be rehearsing for the last month about it, 'cause she's smart," Steven told Access Hollywood on Thursday night as he promoted "CMT Crossroads: Steven Tyler & Carrie Underwood Live from the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam," which airs Saturday evening.

"I love that woman," he continued of Madonna. "She really gets the big picture."

Steven is a Super Bowl halftime show veteran, having previously performedin 2001 with Aerosmith at the big game, and he expects things to go better for the "Give Me All Your Luvin'" singer, than they did for his band.

"I went out -- it was in surround sound -- and only my vocal came out," he said. "The band was gone. I watched it and went, 'Mmmm,' and I melted down into the rug."

Those sorts of sound problems are unlikely to happen on Saturday when Steven and Carrie take the stage at the CMT and Pepsi event, and the "American Idol" judge said the former "Idol" winner, who he previously sang with at the Country Music Awards last April, impressed him again.

"She sings so good, her band was so good, this venue is so good and we're gonna get to do this live," he said.

    "It's so fun," Carrie added.

And the show could lead to a future collaboration.

"You never know," Carrie said. "My album we've kind of -- we're done with, but you just never know. I bet you'll see us together at some point again."

"I'm a sucker for a good song," Steven added.

"CMT Crossroads: Steven Tyler & Carrie Underwood Live from the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam" will air on Saturday, February 4 at 11 PM ET/PT. Carrie's new album, the title of which has not been revealed, will drop on May 1.

Ever since Janet's boob flash everyone has #$%$ and moaned about the halftime show. If you don't like it go walk the dog or something for while it's on. If you want to #$%$ and moan do it about congress not being able to decide on something.

i think janet's boob would have much more welcome than those two shrieking hags.

I loved Madonna's half-time performance. It was one of the best ones that's been on in a few years. She is a very talented, but controversial artist, but she's still a great entertainer. Great job Madonna!

Stephen Tyler did a great job singing the national anthem. whoever says he bungled it, has never heard him sing, or knows nothing about music. They are wrong.

The game will be 5 hours long because of the stupid goofy commercials and the halftime show. If I knew how to DVD and fast forward thru the junk I could save 3 hours of my life.

I'm with you on this. I watch the game if its any good. I channel search at half time. Even good bands don't sound good in that environment but most of the time its crappy entertainers to begin with.

First we have Mandonna to contend with, then Brittney Spears, and now Lady Gaga. Why can't there be one of those "Rock star" plane crashes with Justin Beiber co-piloting the plane.

i don't like football or any sports, really. i only watch the half time show if it's somebody good like bono or paul mccartney. this year, it's not someone i like, so i won't watch. i don't like madonna, don't like what she stands for, but attacking her personally is uncalled for. if you don't like her, just don't watch.

As my dear grandmother used to say, "It's so easy to be a cheap critic!" And, this chance for us to share some great comments, insights, opinions ... often seems to be the cementery where ALL the depressed people come to complain and condemn ... for, evidentally, they have such low self-esteem. Remember KARMA, as well. You may not look so great ... as you age, yourself. You, even now ... may not have such a great singing voice and you probably cannot dance, yet you constantly smash others ... who are not only holding it all together, they are still entertaining us ... plus, they are making really OKAY money. Oh, yes, I forgot to ask you guys who are criticizing ... how is your income? Is it near Madonna's income? Do you adopt children. Do you help causes. I do think COMPLAINERS should pay more attention to their negative attitude. Here is one reason why: There was a great quote by a CEO on Yahoo the other day, that went something like this, "When you become a manager and you want your company, your staff and customers to be HAPPY, the first thing that you need to do ... is to FIRE the complainers!" What a brilliant CEO !

I didn't see Janet's boob flash, and I don't want too, either. If she came in to my bedroom totally naked, I would roll over and go to sleep. Big deal.....................
