LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Emmy winner Jeremy Piven wasn't the only one talking about bombs at the 2008 Emmys -- but this bomb wasn't the awkward opening with the show's five host -- word of a possible bomb scare during the red carpet had nominees hoofing it to the Nokia Theater.
With just 45 minutes to go before the start of the 60th Annual Primetime Emmys Awards, word of a bomb scare swept the red carpet.

From high above the Emmy red carpet, Access Hollywood spotted a massive gathering of police officers stopping limos arriving to the festivities.
Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Kyra Sedgwick, Kevin Bacon, Christina Applegate and Glenn Close were among the celebs forced to hit the pavement.

"We walked in," Emmy-winner Glenn Close told Access' Nancy O'Dell "We walked three blocks!"
Emmy nominee Christina Applegate was also forced to leave her limo before it arrived at the Nokia Theater.
"That's why I'm sweating right now," Christina told Access. "I walked three or four blocks."

Thankfully, the commotion was related to an air gun accidentally left in a car's trunk and the night's celebration of television continued without incident -- opening monologues aside.
