Stars Hit the Emmys

Presenter and nominee Christina Applegate made her first high-profile public appearance since undergoing a double mastectomy, at the 60th annual Emmy Awards in Hollywood on Sunday.

"It's a great day," Applegate told E! host Ryan Seacrest. "I get to wear a pretty dress and lipstick, I haven't done that in a few months."

Tina Fey, who spoofed Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live, told Seacrest: "I guess she dressed up like for me for Halloween once."

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera revealed that Kelly Ripa and Regis Philbin will make a guest appearance on the show. Meanwhile, Jenna Fischer had some news about the rumored The Office spinoff:

"There is no spinoff," Fischer told Seacrest. "It's a completely different show but by the same producers."

Long, sweeping, gowns dominated the red carpet.

"I didn't eat all day and I won't be eating the rest of the night!" an Armani-clad Kristin Chenoweth told Seacrest.

Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey walked the red carpet with his wife, Jillian.

"I flew in from Salt Lake City," the race car driver said. "I raced yesterday."


Dempsey's castmate Sandra Oh, brought her mom and dad, who she introduced as "Mr. and Mrs. O."

The major drama of the night? A bomb scare!

"There was a bomb scare, so we had to [get out of the car] and walk," Eva Longoria (in a flapper style gown) told Seacrest.

Added her hubby Tony Parker "We had a golf cart."
