Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley aren't having any problems, despite reports by a New York newspaper.

"Avril had a surprise BBQ at the house for him and 20 friends for his birthday" over the weekend, a source tells Usmagazine.com. "They then rented a limo and went to [L.A. club] MyHouse."

The newspaper reported Lavigne, 24, was "getting bombed" and then fought with Whibley, 29 -- whom she wed in 2006 -- before ignoring him.

But the source tells Us: "They were laughing and cuddling all night."

The singer is currently in London promoting her new fragrance, Black Star.
