Solange Knowles Has a "Magnetic Bond" With Niece Blue Ivy

Beyonce and Jay-Z's little girl Blue Ivy Carter sure has made a lasting impression on her aunt, Solange Knowles.

    PHOTOS: Meet Blue Ivy Carter!

"I think babies in general are so lovable -- and my sister's baby, Blue, is so beautiful. She is really a beautiful little baby," Solange, 25, tells Rollacoaster magazine, as excerpted by JustJared.

The mom of 7-year-old son Julez, singer/DJ Solange says she relishes her relationship with Blue Ivy, born January 7 in New York City.

    PHOTOS: Relive Beyonce's pregnancy

"It's very different to being a mother, but there's still that sort of magnetic bond and love that you can’t even put words on to describe," she gushed. "It's really special to have a niece because I have a son, so I get to have a little girl too."

While she mulls over her return to the studio -- with two albums reportedly planned for 2012 -- Beyonce is having fun being in full-on mommy mode.

PHOTOS: Beyonce and Jay-Z's sweetest moments

Nursing Blue Ivy at their Scarsdale, New York mansion and $6.85 million Tribeca loft, a source tells Us Weekly Beyonce is "enjoying the time off" and "has been totally doting on Blue…She's up whenever the baby's up!"

That is messed-up to talk about her hair like that. Why should Black women be ashamed and hide their natural hair, simply because it isn't straight? Go Solange, be yourself!

It's really no big deal..except they are celebs so what ever they do is gossip worthy. Comes with the territory, no matter how trivial. Personally, I couldn't leave my baby with anyone for the first few months, it's that maternal instinct that kept me from being seperated from the child I carried in my womb for almost a year..I could care less about any sport..my child was my days and nites..Period. Most celebs, their heart is the camera..and they got to be seen. Money can buy you a nanny, but not love.

Magnetic Bond = Free Publicity For 2 Planned 2012 Albums
    • Me  •  3 months ago
If the article is about a bond with a baby, then why add the fact that they have an album coming out? FREE PUBLICITY MAYBE? Btw? I have a bond with all of my nieces too. BIG DEAL!

I agree, it is totally natural to share a special bond with your neice or nephew.. I have one with all of mine. BIG DEAL is right!!!

Yeah you have a bond but is it a "magnetic bond"????

It was a big enough deal for you to sit here and read it. Shut up. I hate how people complain about celebs getting so much attention over things that "aren't a big deal" No, it;s not a big deal...but the fact that you're commenting and viewing the stories makes it a big deal.

The column is about Solange's connection with her niece - not the way she looks... ridiculous! I think that she is and has always been a beautiful woman. She looks more fabulous in this pic because she is confident enough to show her true beauty, unlike many who make themselves up with false hair, boobs, nails, butt, and casket-ready makeup application. When it comes to Solange's connection with Blue Ivy - that is great! I can only imagine being an aunt since I'm an only child; however, the only difference b/w this aunt and many others is the fact that Blue Ivy have very rich parents. All of them are still human!!!!

i am a black woman who wear's extensions the majority of the time, so i'm trying not to be offended by your comment. I agree - natural is BEAUTIFUL. Solange is gorgeous here, i LOVE her fro :). However, you didn't have to make your point by demeaning other cosmetic choices (i.e. extensions, breast enhancements, etc.). All of it can be beautiful.

Agreed "Justme." To each his or her own. If you don't like the photo, don't read the article. Why hate behind the keyboard folks? Ahhhh, it satisfies your frightened egos. I see. Try another hobby. Perhaps seeing the positive and being open to differences might be a healthy thing to try. Just my humble opinion though.

This is really an amazing story, because most aunts have no kind of feeling or bond with their neices whatsoever. (And for Sheldon, that IS sarcasm!)

I'm an Aunt too! Do I deserve news coverage for it? No. Because this is totally ridiculous...

...an aunt is crazy about her neice.as if this is news-worthy or momentous or unusual? please.nice for them, but really its not news!
    • Puke  •  3 months ago
Is that the only way she can get in the news or the media's stupidity for placing her in the news about this? She is the child's aunt...she and her sister have a close relationship...DUH...I swear if you do not have anything else to print...SHUT UP...Did these writer's take a class in how to be an absolute dunce?

And, while many rocked an afro back in the day...lol...it works for some and not for others. It is not her best do...but she takes risks....go with it. And, why wouldn't 'she be up anytime the baby's up'..Honestly, can we find a 3 year old to write the article next time.
