LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Susan Boyle may have captured hearts across the world with her beautiful singing voice, but after his semi-finals performance on Tuesday night's "Britain's Got Talent," 12-year-old Shaheen Jafargholi may be the reality competition's new frontrunner.

Shaheen, one of a handful of breakout stars on the breakout UK show, which many Americans are keeping up on via YouTube, took to the "Britain's Got Talent" stage on Tuesday night and wowed his way into the semi-finals with a performance of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going," from the musical "Dreamgirls."

"I don't think you could have chosen a more difficult song. That is a really, really tough iconic song and I was incredibly nervous about you singing it, but I take that back because it worked, it did," Simon said to the young man from Wales. "I'm not sure it was as good as the first performance, but I absolutely am certain we're going to see you on Saturday [in the finals]... And you're a real contender now to win this competition."

Simon's fellow judge Piers Morgan was also floored by the young man, giving him a standing ovation and calling his performance the best of the semi-finals round, which has already seen Susan sing.

"Shaheen! Wow, what a performance," Piers said. "It is incredible! This show, when we get kids like you that [can] come on and can sing with such power -- like you just did then -- I find it breathtaking to watch. I think that pound for pound, that was the best singing performance that we've heard in the semi-finals so far."

British pop star Lily Allen, who has been watching the show on the Internet, also weighed in via her Twitter account.

"OH MY GOD just watched Shaheen on britains got talent on youtube, I'm in tears, so amazing," she Tweeted with minimal punctuation.

Lily also took time yesterday to justify her Twitter rant against Susan, who she called "overrated" on her Twitter recently.

"It also seems that I am not alone in my SUBO views, I'd say 90% of you are agreeing with me. And by the way, overrated is not the same as bad," she wrote.

But it appears her Tweets against Susan may be over.

"Ok, we draw a line under the SusanBoyleGate. I still think Shaheen is the best," Lily wrote.

His voice is going to change in a few years. It'll be interesting to see what he ends up with.

  • what???????????
That child has a great future ahead of him, he just needs to find his "voice" (I don't mean the one he sings with). Mr. Cowell saw that, and has been trying to help him in the right direction, that's why he stopped him when he did his first audition song, and asked him to try something else, he could see something much better was in there. Good luck and best wis
